Siti Nurbaya Visited to IPB
Siti Nurbaya, General Secretary of Assembly at Provincial Level RI, who was also the alumnus of IPB made a social call to IPB. She was directly received by Rector of IPB and the System Expert, Prof. Eriyatno (3/9). In her visit, Siti Nurbaya acted as the representation of the Congress of Postgraduate Alumni Association of the Management of Natural Resource and Environment IPB that would held a National Seminar with the theme of “Sumberdaya Alam Untuk Masyarakat Indonesia Secara Adil dan Berkemakmuran” on the upcoming 15 September 2012.
In the Office of Rector of IPB, the Rector welcomed the arrival of the group of the General Secretary of DPD. In the talks with the Rector, Siti Nurbaya had an opportunity to discuss with Prof. Eriyatno about the seminar’s theme which would be designated. Prof. Eriyatno delivered the European crisis, sooner or later, would impact to Asia, and also Indonesia.” If Indonesia has got the impact so this has been the problem of NKRI”.
According to Prof. Ery, Safekeeping Network of Agricultural System and Rural Area could become the solution for building the resilience and maintaining the stability of agricultural system, community and village through the effort of rescue and recovery from crisis. “IPB should play a role here, for example by building the local food industry,“ he said.
According to Prof. Ery, the crisis rescue programs could be in form of Handling the Food Insecurity and Nutrient, Labor Intensive Program for Food Self-Sufficiency, Creation of Productive Opportunities for Employment, Provision Program for grant fund or roll-on fund. Besides that, they were also Crisis Recovery Program, Maintenance and Development Program of Rural Infrastructure, Program Capital Strengthening Program for UMK-Agriculture, Social Capacity Strengthening Program, Social Institutional Strengthening Program.
The plan for the program that would be held in the Congress I of Postgraduate Alumni of the Management of Natural Resource and Environment IPB would present the competent resource persons in their fields like Minister of Forestry, Minister of BUMN, Deputy III of the Ministry of Living Environment, CEO General Electric Indonesia, Managing Director of Pertamina, Head of the Agency for National Land RI, and Chairman of National Forestry Council. This program would also present the regional sets like Governor of Central Kalimantan, Regent of Kuningan and National Alliance of Indigenous Peoples. (dh)
