The Hitting of Drum and the Release of Thrushes to Mark the Opening of Dies of F-MIPA

The hitting of the drum and the release of 30 thruses (singing birds) have marked the
opening a series of program for the 30th Anniversary of the Faculty of Mathematics and
Natural Sciences (F-MIPA) IPB, Wednesday, 5 September 2012, in the F-MIPA park. The release
of birds was done by IPB Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, MSc. and was accompanied
by the Dean of F-MIPA, Dr. Sri Nurdiati, witnessed by the Deputy Dean, Dr Ki Agus Dahlan,
Faculty Secretary, Dr. Sulistiani, Chairman Anniversary of F-MIPA, Dr Asep Saefudin, former
Dean, Dr. Siswadi, the Chairman of all the Departments, and Chairman of the Student
Executive Boards (BEM) of FMIPA.
 
Dr Sri Nurdiati said, the release of this birds was as the symbol that the F-MIPA will
always fly its wing to achieve as the highest as it could be and  will be utilized as
benefetial as possible for  mankind.
 
The opening of 30th Dies or 6th Lustrum with the theme "Membangun Sains dan Pertanian untuk
Kesejahteraan Bangsa (Building Science and Agriculture for the Welfare of the Nation)" was
arranged coinsidely with Halal bi Halal (mutual forgiving) meetings, 1st Syawal 1433 H.
Accordingly, to start the  activity all the audiences were shaking their hands with each
other, asking and giving forgiveness to one another.
 
IPB Rector in his opening address said that F-MIPA is one of the important driver  for the
work performance and achievements of IPB. "We would never be able to build a farm in the
broad sense without the support of the basic sciences. F-MIPA consistently develops his
skills in building the basic sciences. With this ability F-MIPA become the essential glue
for the University to deliver its vision, "said Rector.
 
In the meantime, Rector appreciated the initiative of F-MIPA to beautify its corridor to be
the beautiful ‘auditorium’. Rector hoped that the next year dies of F-MIPA will be held at
its new auditorium,  the building F-MIPA expectged highly. (Wied).
