The Development of Young Entrepreneurs, Bogor Agricultural University as Founder of 30 SME
In accordance with the Surat Keputusan Bersama (SKB – Joint Decision Letter), of three Ministers, namely Minister of Education and Culture, Ministry of Research and Technology and Minister for Cooperatives and SMEs on the development program for young entrepreneurs in Indonesia, Bogor Agriculture University (IPB) through its Pusat Inkubator Bisnis dan Pengembangan Kewirausahaan (IncuBie – the Business Incubator and Development Center for Entrepreneurship), Institute research and Community Service (LPPM) IPB has founded 30 (thirty) Small-Medium Entrepreneur (SMEs) in West Java. After undergone through tough selection procedure, 30 (thirty) out of the 108 (hundred eight) listed SMEs were selected to be founded through the IncuBie.
"SME Development Program through the IncuBie which was organized by the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs in collaboration with the Cooperatives and SME Services of West Java Province has selected more than 100 tenants from Ciamis, Sumedang, Purwakarta, Tasikmalaya, Bogor, Bekasi, Sukabumi and Cianjur. 30 (thirty) out of those 100 (hundred) tenants finally were selected, they were tenants from Bogor, Sukabumi, Tasikmalaya, Cianjur, and Bekasi, "said the Coordinator of the IncuBie, Dr. Ir. Prochain Hezbollah, in the socializing the instituional programs of Incubi at its Function Room, Baranang Siang Campus, on 9 July 2012.
According to him, five tenants will operate its businesses in the IncuBie Building, while the other 25 tenants will operate in their home production. "The expected output will be the growing of their businesses from small to medium size, from medium size to be the industrial business and the compilation of 10 business plans," he said. Meanwhile, Mr. Yaya Sunarya, Head of Technical Support Office for Medium & SMEs of West Java, in his remarks when he officially opened the socialization program said that tenants passed and were selected to be the target of foundation would become the driving force of entrepreneurship or community-based cooperative.
In the future, after being founded by IPB, those tenants could disseminate what they learn for the communities at large (SMEs) in their regions. Thus, the mulitplying effect more and more SMEs will be growing and established, "he said
