PTPN III Opens Service-Binding Scholarship for Undergraduate Education
PT. Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) III plans to open service-binding scholarship for undergraduate education to meet the need for human resources. "We pare planning to offer a binding scholarship for students who are interested in a career in PTPN III. Of course this binding service is to be conducted in cooperation with various universities in Indonesia. To meet the need for human resources in the upstream sector, we can collaborate with Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). On the other hand, to do so in the downstream sector, we can cooperate with other universities," said Deputy Director of PTPN III, Ir. Kusumandaru NS, MBA in the signing of a memorandum of understanding between PTPN III and IPB, Monday (2/7) on Campus IPB Darmaga.
Since March 2012, PTPN III was appointed by Minister for State-Owned Businesses as the parent of all PTPNs in Indonesia. This means PTPN will become the parent of PTPN I through PTPN XIV owned by the State-Owned Businesses. "This change requires some prepared human resources who are capable of managing the upstream to downstream production. As an effort to organize human resources, PTPN III is making the system of knowledge worker suitable to the talents and skills of employees," said Kusumandaru. In stages, PTPN employees will also have the opportunity to continue to take graduate studies.
IPB Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, MSc welcomed the cooperation between IPB and PTPN III. "Improved quality of human resources will help create innovations and new breakthroughs in PTPN. IPB is ready to cooperate with PTPN for human resource development," said Rector. PTPN reform is in line with the master plan of MP3I, that is, to boost the downstream crude palm oil (CPO) industries in the regions. (Mtd)
