25.366 Participants Join JAPAS at IPB University’s 63rd Anniversary, Celebrating Health and Togetherness
A total of 25.366 participants took part in the Healthy Morning Walk (JAPAS) as part of the 63rd Anniversary of IPB University at the Dramaga Campus, Bogor, on Sunday (9/27). The event served as a momentum to strengthen togetherness among the university’s academic community, families, partners, and the wider community, while promoting a healthy lifestyle on campus.
Director of Cooperation, Communications, and Marketing of IPB University, Dr Alfian Helmi, said that JAPAS is part of the series of activities commemorating IPB University’s 63rd Anniversary.
This year, IPB University’s anniversary carries the theme “Strengthening Independence, Inspiring the Future,” which is reflected through various academic, sports, and community building activities.
“JAPAS is an annual event that we organize every year. Hopefully, this activity will further strengthen our bonds and sense of community,” said Dr Alfian.
In addition to JAPAS, the 63rd Anniversary celebrations include various activities, such as Jelajah IPB, which invites high school students to explore the university, sports tournaments, and the launch of various anniversary programs during the opening event in early September.
JAPAS featured more than just a morning walk, offering participants a range of supporting activities. Participants could access free health check ups provided through a collaboration with nine hospital partners.
The facilities were also part of an effort to create an event experience that was not only recreational but also beneficial to participants’ health.
The event also featured a bazaar involving micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), Agrianita, student entrepreneurs, and several partners. A variety of food, beverages, and other products were available, adding to the vibrancy of the event.
Rector of IPB University, Dr Alim Setiawan, said that JAPAS provided an opportunity for the IPB University community to enjoy the campus atmosphere in a different setting.
According to him, a university is not only about education, research, and innovation, but also serves as a space for building togetherness and maintaining health.
“Universities are not only about education, research, or innovation. They are also about togetherness, health, and fostering a sense of belonging among all of us,” said Dr Alim.
He added that the participation of faculty members, education staff, students, alumni, families, and members of the wider community in JAPAS demonstrated a spirit of togetherness as part of the larger IPB University family.
Dr Alim expressed his hope that the event would serve as a momentum to strengthen relationships among members of the university community and its partners, while reflecting IPB University’s commitment to building a healthy, inclusive, and close knit campus environment. (dr) (IAAS/CAA)
