The IPB Dramaga Campus in Bogor was filled with a festive atmosphere on Saturday and Sunday (8/23-24). Thousands of students, faculty members, staff, IPB University leadership, and members of the local community gathered to enjoy the closing events of Agrisymphony (AGSN) x MPKMB 63 2026.

A variety of activities highlighted the festival, ranging from artistic performances, student art exhibitions, booths run by student organizations and Student Activity Units (UKM), to musical performances on the main stage. The atmosphere grew even more lively when students, faculty members, and IPB University leadership joined in to perform and sing together.

IPB University Rector Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet expressed his delight at seeing the enthusiasm of the academic community filling the campus grounds.

“I’m so happy, it’s amazing, I’m just overjoyed to see all these IPB students pouring in to express their happiness and joy,” he said.

According to him, the festivities of AGSN served as a memorable conclusion for the new students after completing the entire New Student Orientation Program (MPKMB). He also commended the organizing committee’s hard work in putting together such creative and innovative activities.

“Of course, I’d like to congratulate the new students who have completed the entire MPKMB program, and I certainly want to congratulate the organizing committee for their hard work, creativity, and innovation in putting on this extraordinary event,” he said.

The Rector hopes that AGSN can continue to be developed and provide an even more engaging experience for students in the years to come. “This is very beneficial, and hopefully next year it will be even more spectacular,” he remarked.

A similar sentiment was expressed by the Director of Student Affairs at IPB University, Dr Akhmad Arifin Hadi. He noted that AGSN serves as a form of appreciation for new students while also providing a space to introduce campus life in a more relaxed setting.

“This is where we introduce everything at IPB in an informal way. Because if we do it formally, they’ll definitely get bored. But with an informal approach, starting with GWW, which features a variety of products, then the student club tents, student organizations, and entrepreneurship booths, it’s all incredible,” he explained.

Enthusiasm also came from the community members who joined in enjoying the various activities. “Senior students, faculty, and staff, everyone has turned out in droves, and the public turnout has been incredible,” said Dr Akhmad.

“This is all thanks to the outstanding collaboration of the entire IPB academic community,” he added.

Alyssa Alyssa Fidelia, Chair of MPKMB 63 x AGSN 2026, said this year’s festivities even exceeded the organizing committee’s expectations. “Honestly, it’s really, really crowded. I never expected that this year’s turnout would be so overwhelmingly large. There are even still many people out front who haven’t been able to get in yet. So, it’s super-duper packed,” she explained.

One of the distinguishing features of AGSN 2026 is the Talent Gallery, which provides a space for freshmen to showcase their work and creativity.

“For the first time at Agrisymphony, we have the Talent Gallery. So, these freshmen can display their work. We appreciate the creations of the freshmen,” explained Alyssa.

AGSN 2026 has become more than just the closing event of the MPKMB. This festival serves as a gathering space that brings together various members of the academic community and the public in a celebration of togetherness.

For new students, AGSN is a memorable experience that allows them to get to know campus life at IPB University in a more intimate, warm, and enjoyable way. (AS) (IAAS/WSG)
