IPB University and the Indonesian National Police Form Strategic Partnership to Strengthen Human Resources and Food Security
IPB University and the Indonesian National Police officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Tuesday (5/19). This partnership represents a strategic step toward strengthening synergy between higher education institutions and law enforcement agencies, particularly in the areas of education, training, research, community service, and institutional development.
In remarks read by AKBP Dian Mustika on behalf of the Assistant Chief of Police for Human Resources, Inspector General Dr Anwar, it was stated that this partnership is an important first step in uniting the vision of both institutions to support the development of high quality human resources (HR) toward Indonesia Emas 2045.
“This memorandum of understanding is a very important first step in unifying our shared vision and mission. Through this collaboration, we can enhance the quality of the National Police’s human resources, particularly in the fields of education, training, research, community service, and institutional development,” she said.
She added that collaboration with universities is a crucial component of the National Police’s efforts to address challenges in human resource development, science, and educational technology.
“The National Police not only carry out their duties as law enforcement but also build harmonious collaboration, communication, and coordination in addressing national development challenges,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Rector of IPB University, Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet, expressed appreciation for the National Police’s contribution to supporting national food security. According to him, strengthening the food sector requires cross sectoral collaboration to ensure optimal and sustainable progress.
“Strengthening food security certainly cannot be done alone; it must be achieved through collective collaboration. Therefore, we are very open to joining hands and collaborating,” he said.
He explained that IPB University possesses significant academic potential with 14 faculties, nearly 40.000 students, and approximately 1.500 faculty members, including over 350 full professors. This potential is ready to support various strategic programs of the National Police, ranging from strengthening education, health, and the environment to community empowerment.
In addition to offering degree and non-degree programs, IPB University is also ready to collaborate on strategic research and community service. Currently, IPB University has reached more than 8.350 villages through various faculty and student programs.
This partnership is expected to serve as the foundation for long-term collaboration between IPB University and the Indonesian National Police in delivering innovation, strengthening human resource capacity, and making tangible contributions to society and national development. (AS) (IAAS/EXC).
