The Directorate of Agromaritime Community Development (DPMA) of IPB University, together with the Center for Gender and Children Studies (PKGA) of IPB University, held an educational visit to the Agribusiness and Technology Park (ATP) of IPB University.
This activity was the closing event of the 2025 Quality Youth School (SRB) program. The visit marked the end of the SRB activities that had been held from October 18 2025 to November 14 2025, involving more than 200 teenagers who were students from IT Bina Bangsa Sejahtera High School and SMP Negeri 1 Dramaga.
“IPB University wants to be closer to the community. We want to ensure that teenagers in Dramaga have the same opportunities to excel at the international level and can be role models for their peers,” said Assistant Director of Social Entrepreneurship at DPMA IPB University, Dr Mohammad Iqbal Irfani.
The Chairperson of the SRB 2025 Team and Chairperson of PKGA IPB University, Dr Yulina Eva Riany, said that during the more than one month of the program, participants received various briefings on character, adolescent health, leadership, and future planning.
“The visit to ATP was the final moment that enriched the learning experience of the teenagers by seeing firsthand the application of IPB University’s innovations in agriculture, animal husbandry, and fisheries,” she said.
In addition, the visit to ATP IPB University is also expected to motivate teenagers to continue their higher education, especially at IPB University.
“The SRB program is a concrete effort by IPB University to shape intelligent, characterful, and healthy teenagers. We hope that this experience will motivate the participants to continue learning and developing their potential,” said Dr Yulina.
At ATP, the participants were invited to observe various cultivation systems and production technologies developed by IPB University. The students seemed enthusiastic about learning about plant cultivation processes, modern livestock management, and aquaculture technology. Some participants even had their first experiences, such as feeding goats and understanding the process of livestock maintenance firsthand.
After the field visit, participants attended an inspirational session on college life with Akbar Hermawan, SSi, an IPB University alumnus who now works at DPMA. Akbar shared his experiences regarding college admission, scholarship opportunities, and tips on managing time during college and organizations. This session provided a realistic picture of the academic readiness and soft skills needed in the college world.

The committee also announced the six best participants from each school who were assessed to be active, disciplined, and showed high commitment during the program.
