FEM IPB University Sends 51 Students on the International KKNT Program to Malaysia and Thailand
The Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) at IPB University is once again sending students to participate in the Thematic Real Work Study Program (KKNT) abroad. This year, the FEM International KKNT program is being held in two countries, Malaysia and Thailand.
A total of 51 students are participating in the program. Nineteen students are stationed at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in Malaysia, 15 students at the Al Hidayat Wakaf Foundation in Yala, and 17 students at Rajabhat University Songkhla in Thailand. The program runs from July to August 2025.
According to the Dean of FEM IPB University, Prof Irfan Syauqi Beik, this program is part of international collaboration efforts to enhance networking and cooperation, as well as strengthen students’ global competencies.
“This is part of our commitment to supporting IPB University’s internationalization program. By developing international cooperation to uphold the three pillars of higher education through community service programs,” he said.
This activity, he said, also encourages interaction between young people from different countries in terms of diplomacy. “The achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is not only a national effort but also an international one,” he said.
During the program, students were involved in various activities, such as health education training, Indonesian and English language tutoring, mathematics, waste management, and reforestation programs involving tree planting.
Additionally, they also participated in introducing Indonesian cultural activities such as batik making, dance, and regional cuisine.
“Although they had to adapt to the language and slightly different climate, we hope this program can train students to understand the challenges faced by communities in other countries.Helping to provide solutions to contribute to the spirit of a campus that makes an impact while achieving the SDG goals,” Prof Irfan hoped.
