IPB University Vocational School Students Create Dollipop, Indonesia’s First AR Doll Bouquet
Five students from the Software Engineering Technology (TRPL) program at IPB University’s Vocational School have successfully developed Dollipop, Indonesia’s first doll bouquet product that integrates Augmented Reality (AR) technology.
This product not only pioneers the fusion of physical visuals and digital content but also introduces a new way to convey emotional messages through gifts.
Dollipop is a doll bouquet featuring a main doll surrounded by smaller dolls. Through a dedicated app, users can scan hidden markers on the dolls to access various digital content such as video messages, photo galleries, music, and animations.
Muhammad Aqil Musthafa Ar Rachman, CEO of Dollipop, explained that this innovation enables a unique and heartfelt personalized experience. “Dollipop is not just a product, but a new experience for gift seekers and memory makers who want to give more meaningful gifts,” he said.
He added that the integration of AR makes the process of selecting and designing the bouquet more enjoyable, interactive, and realistic.
The AR technology in this product is user-friendly simply install the Dollipop app, scan the doll, and the digital content appears directly on the phone screen. No technical skills are required to enjoy this experience.
The Dollipop development team consists of Muhammad Aqil Musthafa Ar Rachman, Nurrizkyta Aulia Hanifah, Nasywa Shafa Salsabila, Marsya Halya Alfrida, and Anka Luffi Ramdani. They are students of the TRPL Vocational School at IPB University.
Building on their foundational understanding of AR gained in the Virtual Technology course, they initiated this project under the guidance of lecturers Amata Fami, MDs, and Faldiena Marcelita, ST, MKom. The project is also part of the Technopreneurship course.
This innovation received a warm welcome from various parties and successfully secured a Top 10 position in the Rocket Youthpreneur Bogor program. Recently, they also had the opportunity to pitch directly to investors from Saratoga Investama.
This program is part of the Sandination initiative by Dr H Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, and is supported by the Student Entrepreneurship Program and the Directorate of Career Development, Entrepreneurship, and Alumni Relations at IPB University.
“This support is invaluable to us in developing our innovation and introducing Dollipop to a broader market,” said Marsya Halya Alfrida.
Dollipop stands as a strong testament to how students can create innovative solutions that blend technology, creativity, and empathy. This product is not merely a doll bouquet but a symbol of the digital revolution in the personalized gift industry. (TPL/ASW/Rz)(IAAS/KDP).
