Six IPB University scholars have been named to the Stanford–Elsevier Top 2% Scientists list. This list features researchers evaluated based on bibliometric indicators that measure the impact of scientific publications, both over the course of their careers and within a one year period.

Rector Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet commended the achievements of these six IPB University academics and viewed them as recognition of their scientific contributions.

“This recognition serves as a reminder that the contributions of universities do not end in the classroom or the laboratory. The knowledge generated by academics must continue to be developed, published, and become part of the global scientific discourse.”

“IPB University will continue to encourage faculty and researchers to enhance the quality of their research, expand collaborations, and produce findings relevant to the advancement of science and the resolution of various societal issues,” he said.

In the Career-Long category, two IPB University faculty members made the list, namely:

  1. Prof Dr Ir Daniel Murdiyarso (Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences/FMIPA).
  2. Prof Dr Anuraga Jayanegara (Faculty of Animal Science).

Meanwhile, the Single-Year category includes six IPB University faculty members, namely:

  1. Prof Dr Ir Daniel Murdiyarso (Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences)
  2. Prof Dr Anuraga Jayanegara (Faculty of Animal Science).
  3. Prof Dr Farah Fahma (Faculty of Engineering and Technology).
  4. Prof Dr Julie Ekasari (Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences).
  5. Prof Dr Irmanida Batubara (Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences).
  6. Prof Dr Mohamad Rafi (Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences).

The Stanford–Elsevier Top 2% Scientists list provides an overview of the impact of researchers’ scientific publications based on bibliometric indicators. The assessment is divided into two categories, Career-Long, which measures citation impact over the course of a researcher’s career, and Single-Year, which assesses the impact of publications within a one-year period.

The indicators used include the number of citations, the H-index, and composite indicators that combine several measures of scientific impact. These two categories provide an overview of the impact of researchers’ scientific publications based on different evaluation time frames. (IAAS/LAN)
