IPB University Wins “The Most Impactful Sharia Business School” Award at the 2026 Republika Sharia Awards

IPB University received national recognition by winning the The Most Impactful Sharia Business School award at the 2026 Republika Sharia Awards (ASR), held as part of the 2026 Indonesia Sharia Forum. 

This award is given to institutions deemed to have made a tangible contribution to advancing the sharia economic and business ecosystem in Indonesia.

The Acting Rector of IPB University, Dr Heti Mulyati, expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the award presented by Republika. 

According to her, the award serves as motivation for IPB University to continue strengthening its role in the development of science, education, and innovation in the field of Sharia economics.

“We express our deepest gratitude for the recognition given by Republika to IPB University. This award serves as an inspiration for us to continue contributing to the development of Islamic economics and various other academic fields for the advancement of Indonesian society,” she said.

She added that IPB University is committed to continuing to produce graduates, research, and innovations that are not only academically excellent but also capable of providing tangible benefits for national development.

According to her, Islamic values such as trustworthiness, integrity, and public benefit are in line with IPB University’s spirit of creating solutions to various development challenges.

The Republika Sharia Awards are an annual event held since 2017 to recognize the contributions of players in the Islamic economic and financial sectors, educational institutions, community organizations, Islamic philanthropic groups, and prominent figures who play a role in advancing the national Islamic economy. 

Republika’s Editor in Chief, Andi Muhyiddin, emphasized that the Sharia economy is not solely profit oriented but is grounded in trust, honesty, and the greater good. 

She cited the story of a micro entrepreneur who prioritized blessings over short term profits as an example of Sharia economic values.

“It is not the principles of Sharia that have failed, but the people. Sharia is not merely a label, it is about trust, integrity, and honesty,” she said. (dr) (IAAS/HAN)
