IPB University, together with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Command for Doctrine, Education, and Training (Kodiklat) in Serpong, held the 3rd Hampangan Technical Guidance (Bimtek) and the 2026 Territorial Development Infantry Battalion (Katpuan Yonif TP) Capability Enhancement program.
The activity was attended by Yonif TP personnel with great enthusiasm. This Bimtek serves as a crucial milestone in strengthening technical, managerial, and strategic capabilities to support the execution of field operations.
Dr Supriyanto, Assistant for Agromaritime Services at the Institute for Agromaritime Development and Innopreneurship Acceleration (LPA2I) of IPB University, explained in his presentation the importance of applying technology in the development of modern agriculture.
“Modern agriculture must prioritize land efficiency, the use of precision technology, and the implementation of the latest generation of smart farming,” he said. This concept encompasses the use of sensors, automation, measured nutrition, and the design of tropical greenhouses adapted to Indonesia’s climate conditions.
In addition, participants also received training on horticultural cultivation techniques, the use of mulch, drip irrigation systems, plant variety selection, and the application of hydroponic systems such as the nutrient film technique (NFT) and deep water culture (DWC).
The material also covered urban farming production strategies such as rooftop farming and vertical farming, strengthening organizational management, and the importance of innovation in keeping pace with the times.
Furthermore, Danang Aria Nugroho, SE, MSi, Secretary of LPA2I, emphasized that synergy between technical skills and strategic thinking is essential for supporting effective and efficient organizational performance. He also encouraged participants to continue developing their competencies and to be able to adapt to ongoing changes.
The event also featured interactive discussions and case studies that allowed participants to better understand the practical application of the material in the field. Active interaction between the presenters and participants created a dynamic and communicative learning environment.
The event commander stated that this activity is part of the commitment to improving the quality of human resources within the TP Infantry Battalion. “Through this training, we hope all participants can enhance their capabilities and readiness to face various future operational challenges,” he said.
