Improve Competence and Absorption of Graduates, IPB University Vocational School Signs MoA with Binawan Training Center

IPB University Vocational School (SV) together with the Binawan Training Center Foundation signed a cooperation agreement in the fields of education, training, and employment, 19/10. The signing was carried out at the Executive Lounge of the Dean of the Vocational School of IPB University.

This collaboration aims to improve the quality of Indonesia's human resources; improve the quality of vocational education graduates; and Increase the absorption of labor from vocational education graduates. Distribution of graduates will be conducted for graduates from the Agribusiness Management Study Program, the Seed Industry Technology Study Program, the Plantation Technology and Management Study Program, the Agricultural Production Technology and Community Development Study Program, as well as other relevant Study Programs according to predetermined criteria.

Dr. Wawan Oktariza, Deputy Dean for Resources, Cooperation and Development of SV IPB University, said that this collaboration was intended so that IPB University Vocational School graduates could be well absorbed.

"Binawan is one of the Job Hunters that has links in various countries such as Japan for health and Canada for agriculture," said Dr Wawan Oktariza.

With this collaboration, he said, graduates of the Vocational School of IPB University will be trained and distributed to industries in need abroad. He hopes that in the future there will be more study programs that can be developed.

Meanwhile, Drs Apt Sjarif Ali, Head of the Binawan University Daily Supervisory Board, stated that there will be no unemployed graduates once they return to Indonesia.

“The scheme that we have thought about carefully is to build a greenhouse in Indonesia. So, as long as the student or graduate is abroad, the family in Indonesia will manage the greenhouse. So once they return to Indonesia, they will continue to manage the greenhouse,” said Sjarif Ali.

He also expressed an extraordinary impression because he could work together with SV IPB University. The reason is, IPB University has become Top Mind when it comes to agriculture.

“It is an honor for us to be able to collaborate with one of the big institutions, which we know, IPB University is one of the Top of Mind in agriculture. When we were contacted by Mr. KonJen (Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia) Toronto, he asked for workers from Indonesia in agriculture and we immediately connected him with IPB University, "he said.

IPB University's Vocational School will continue to strive so that graduates can improve their competencies and are ready to welcome the Indonesian Golden Generation in 2045. (SA/WB) (IAAS/SYA)
