IPB University Vocational School Graduate Candidates Receive Career Enlightenment and Briefing


 

This activity aims to make prospective graduates gain better skills and capacities in achieving careers and entrepreneurship. Activities such as enrichment courses are also specially prepared for IPB University graduates who have graduated for six months but have not yet found their dream career.

Dr Bagus Priyo Purwanto, Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of the Vocational School of IPB University emphasized cooperation, creativity and honesty. He also hopes that this activity can provide enlightenment and reset the mindset of prospective graduates.

"I hope that in the future the alumni of the Vocational School of IPB University will be proud because they are qualified and tough alumni," he said.

In this activity, the participants were given enlightenment related to the world of entrepreneurship from competent sources. The resource persons presented were IPB University CEO Your Tea Group alumnus, Indra Thamrin.

On this occasion, Indra provided education in the field of digital marketing for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). He explained that the main thing to achieve success is to instill an entrepreneurial mindset. He emphasized that being an entrepreneur has its own challenges compared to a career as a professional. Not only that, the salary received is the result of hard work and personal dreams.

“The most important thing is that the mindset must be right first. If you choose the entrepreneurial path, automatically the hard work must be heavier," said Indra.

He also mentioned that the responsibilities that are borne are greater and the income is not constant, even up and down according to the effort of the entrepreneur.

The prospective graduates also get knowledge related to preparation and career exploration by Nur Fajri Rahmawati, Senior Manager Recruitment and Training CDA IPB University. He explained about the importance of career preparation.

He explained that the concept of selection when entering the world of work and career will be felt by alumni. Therefore, it is important for IPB University alumni to know the changes due to globalization.

He further explained, most of the current work positions changed in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. Not only that, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has also changed the way of life for companies so that companies must carry out transformations in order to survive. In fact, its human resources have also been transformed to meet the needs of today's industry.

“We as job seekers must understand this. What should we do so that we can be accepted in the company," he continued.

In the future, he said, machines will gradually replace humans. Therefore, it takes a strong value and is supported by excellent interpersonal and intrapersonal skills. Thus, human resources have a power that cannot be replaced by any machine. (MW) (IAAS/SYA)
