IPB University Holds Kick-Off and Overview MBKM Sociopreneur Program One Village One CEO
IPB University held an online Kick-Off and Overview program for the One Village One CEO Program, (21/9). This year, there were 114 students from all faculties at IPB University who took part in this program. They go directly to the field in West Java, Riau, and Central Java.
The event was attended by the Chancellor of IPB University, Prof. Arif Satria, Vice-Chancellor for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Drajat Martianto, Vice Chancellor for Innovation and Business, Prof. Erika Budiarti Laconi, Program Coordinator of the SDGs Center PT Astra International, Yogi Lasril and Deputy for Education and Socialization, Participation and Partnership, Indonesian Peat and Mangrove Restoration Agency (BRGM), Dr. Myrna Asnawati Safitri.
“One Village One CEO is important to improving sociopreneurs of students and to provide value and effects for village development. Economic growth in Indonesia is expected to grow from the productive activities of the Indonesian people. Therefore, the presence of One Village One CEO is very important,” said Prof. Arif Satria.
According to him, students can be a source of inspiration and enthusiasm for rural communities to continue to contribute with the latest technology, especially technology in agriculture and processing," he concluded.
According to the Director of Student Affairs and Career Development (Ditmawa PK), IPB University, Dr. Alim Setiawan, the Merdeka Learning program, Merdeka Campus (MBKM), Sociopreneur is a scale-up of One Village One CEO and Innovation. "One Village One CEO and Innovation has been carried out in 6 districts and 53 villages in West Java since 2019. This program aims to provide opportunities for students to contribute to building a rural business ecosystem based on village-level business units, both Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMdes), cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) as well as other superior village potentials," he said.
From this program, students can develop empathy, explore ideas, analyze the environment and also help economic actors in the village to plan businesses based on village potential. In the future, students can develop their businesses independently after receiving this program.
"This program is implemented by sending students as Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) accompanying business units at the village level. They play a role in capacity building, institutionalization, increasing product value, facilitating access to financing to facilitate access to marketing both offline and digital al Marketing through various platforms,” he added.
On this occasion, Dr. Alim also expressed his gratitude to those who have always provided support in this program. They are PT Astra International, the Indonesian Peat, and Mangrove Restoration Agency, the West Java Provincial Government, and other institutions.
