Archive Unit of IPB Held Knowledge Sharing at Unhas and UIM
Ideal archive management or well-arranged archiving is one of supports to shape good corporate governance. Process of organizational management in an institution will be performed smoothly due to well-arranged archiving support as its solution. In the frame of improving quality of archives administration also as an effort in realization of well-arranged archiving in scope of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Archive Unit of IPB heldl sharing session about archiving with Hasanuddin University (Unhas) and Islamic University of Makassar (UIM) in Makassar on October 1st and 5th 2018. This event aims to enhance each other knowledge about archiving such as about strategies of improving archives management, efforts to solve archiving problems, implementation of National Movement of Well-arranged Archiving's Awareness (GNSTA), implementation and development of Dynamic Archiving Information System (SIKN) and many other topics about archiving.
Sharing session about archiving at Unhas was organized by IPB’s Archive Unit Team with Rector of Unhas and Head of Unhas’ Archive Unit along with the staff of Unhas’ Archive Unit. While Sharing session about archiving at UIM was led by Vice Rector II of UIM, Dr. Syarifuddin Modding, ST., MT. with moderator Dr. Ir. Musdalifah Mahmud, MSi. (Head of Research and Community Empowerment UIM). The event was attended by Head for Bureau of Academic and Administration, Vice Dean II within UIM's scope, Head of Academic, Finance, and Administration UIM, Head of Graduate Program UIM, all Heads of Administration from 9 Faculties within UIM's scope.
Head of Archive Acquisition and Processing Sub-division of Archive Unit IPB, Ir. Hirra Nurlaeni, MM, in her explanation also conveyed that Archive Unit IPB is keeping on doing efforts in improving the quality of archiving's performance also efforts in realizing well-arranged archiving within IPB's scope. One of the planned activities is initiating Gerakan Sadar Tertib Arsip (GSTA). It is considering that the awareness about the importance of archives is still low. Rector of Unhas, Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, MA. and Vice Rector II of Islamic University of Makassar Dr. Syarifuddin Modding, ST., MT. agreed that GSTA Program necessarily to be socialized in the environment of every institute, to foster the awareness of archives management’s importancy, to build the implementation of well-arranged archives, and to secure the archive in each organization.
Development of Dynamic Archives Information System (SIKD) in dynamic archives management was also discussed during this activity. Omat Suratman, S.Ag. (Head of Administration) of Archive Unit IPB expressed that one of the efforts in SIKD development in IPB is through coaching program to all archivists and archive management staff within IPB scope in the form of training, technical guidance, internship program, workshop, and seminars. The efforts to develop Human Resources of archivists and archives management staff in Unhas also will be implemented in form of training and technical guidance. This was explained by Head of Archive Unit Unhas, Wa Ode Nurnia Rahim, SE. MM. Through this activity, it is expected that collaboration may be made in terms of improving quality of the implementation of information technology-based Archives Management also collaboration in succeeding GNSTA.
