IPB JobFair 2018 Prepares Students to Face the Job Market
Directorate of Student Affairs and Career Development of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held IPB JobFair Career and Entrepreneurship Expo 2018 in Graha Widya Wisuda, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor (21-22/9). IPB became the facilitator to make the companies’s interests as job opportunity providers meet with the fresh-graduates as job seekers. Aside of that, this event was also complemented by entrepreneurship expo to strengthen the entrepreneurship spirit so the students can be the job creators in the future.
IPB Rector, Dr. Arif Satria stated that this event was a moment for IPB to bring together the job market and job seekers. Fresh graduates could be introduced to the job market world and could also use this opportunity as an access to enter the job market. “IPB really wishes that their graduates can applicate their knowledge as soon as their graduate,” said the Rector.
The Head of Subdirectorate Career Development and Student Characters, Directorate of Student Affairs and Career Development IPB, Handian Purwawangsa, S.Hut, MSi, explained that this program was a form of IPB commitment to accelerate IPB graduates absorption in the job market. This year’s JobFair was an integration of promotion, presentation, exhibition, free career consultation, and an in campus recruitment that was done by companies. All in one, expected to give maximum benefit to IPB partner companies, alumni, and students from IPB and other university.
He also added that this JobFair IPB was attended by 41 participating companies. The number of participants that was attending the event was approximately 3000 people. The participating companies were varied in the type, agriculture, banking, insurance, education, and Information and Technology (IT), consumer goods, and manufacture. The series of IPB JobFair Career and Scholarship Expo 2018 consisted of Career Expo, Entrepreneurship Expo, Company Presentation, and Career Consultation.
Also present in the opening of JobFair 2018 were Vice Rector of Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ir. Drajat Martianto, Deans, and many other IPB officials. The visitors came from the students, alumni from IPB and other university, and also the publics that wanted to seek job or prepare themselves to enter the job market. (CN)
