Rector of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Dr. Arif Satria had taraweeh prayer at Al Hurriyyah Mosque, Dramaga Campus with students, lecturers and educational staffs on Wednesday night (May 16). On that night, the Rector gave a sermon before the taraweeh prayer began.

“We should be grateful for the blessings we get. There are three aspects of pleasure that we should be very grateful, those are physical blessings, favors of independence and favors of faith,” he said.

First, the physical blessings we get should be grateful for because of this we can do many positive activities, the examples are by innovate to work and giving duty as a leader in this earth by keeping its nature. Then with the blessings of this health we can nurture the environmental sustainability. Generally, the damage on environment is caused by the human greediness. With this physical blessings we also need to continue to share kindness. Both in the micro aspects such as alms, infaq and zakat as well as in macro aspects such as collective and structural actions to provide opportunities for others to become a reliable economic actors.

Second, the favors of independence are a great gift. Because the function of freedom itself is a task that allows us as the leader on earth. Moreover, freedom also encourages us to innovate for the benefit of human beings.

“The last is to be grateful for the favors of faith. Because of the faith, we got the guidance to live in this world. The month of fasting is the month in which we are trained to be honest, which we can apply into another eleven months. If we can apply honesty into social life, it will create a community with hightrust society. The hightrust community is the key to the advancement of this nation,” he said.

Thousands of IPB residents prayed taraweeh together with imam Wahid. (FM)
