IPB Alumni Are Ready to Assist the Government for Food Self-Sufficiency
The Alumni Association of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB-HA) affirmed its strong will to play its important role to combat the glowing corruption in this country. This waspledged by five thousand of IPB alumni who attended the Reunion of the 50th Anniversary of IPB held at the Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC), on Saturday, 5 October 2013.
”One of the critical values pledged is the integrity. We agreed that IPB alumni should be against corruption,” said Chairman of HA-IPB, Mr.BambangHendroyono, at a press conference of the 50th Anniversary of IPB. Those critical valueswere resulted of consolidation of five thousand alumni who attended and joined that special event. The other critical values, Bambang said, are the diversity, caring, cooperation and excellent or perfect. He expect that the IPBalumni to be superior in every walk of life. ”Particularly the issue of food.We should emphasize this critical issue, as by food we will develop futuristic nation.”
Bambang also stressed that this Golden Reunion was expected to be the starting point to consolidate IPB alumni who are scattered in different places and professions. In its 50th anniversary, where thousands of IPB Alumni got together, they expressed their strong will to to realize food self-sufficiency in Indonesia. BambangHendroyono said, one way to realize the strong will, in this golden anniversary the HA-IPB decided to put theme "Together to Build Food Self-Reliance".
According to him, at this golden anniversary it is the high time for all the alma mater to review the life story of IPB in the last fifty years. In addition, the grand reunion of IPB alumni was organized toarouse the collective consciousness for the nation building and better future of Indonesia. "Through open dialogue of the consolidation of IPBalumni forum the motto"One Heart, One IPB alma mater," was emerged said Bambang.
Musical show was performed for this special event, in addition, the granting of scholarships for lessfortunate new students, the presentation of Alumni IPBcards, the launching of alumni website, and the exhibition of alumni’art creations were appeared in the program of this special event. (Wied)
