Yatri Indah Kusumastuti, M.Sc. and the ranks of the Public Relations Division of IPB conducted a Media Visit to the Office of Republika on Friday (5/10) in Jakarta. This visit is in order to maintain good relations between IPB and the mass media. The IPB delegation was warmly welcomed by Republika's Managing Director, Agoosh Yosran, Editor in Chief, Irfan Junaedi, Deputy Editor in Chief, Nur Hasan Murtiaji, Head of Newsroom, Maman Sudiaman and his staff. Also present were senior journalist Republika who was also an alumnus of IPB, Irwan Kelana.

The Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria explained about the current situation that occurred due to changes in the era of disruption in the world. IPB would also follow these changes, said the Rector of IPB.

According to the Rector of IPB, the learning method in 1980-1990 was not suitable for use in the millennial era now. "In the current era, anyone can be anything. Businesses are growing tremendously. Some of the changes made at IPB include the acceptance of new students through the Student Council Chair. For this year IPB opened the OSIS leaders to get a leadership gene," said the Rector of IPB.

The number of registrants from the OSIS leader line was 1882, IPB received 150 people. "We want to do the mapping first. So we want IPB graduates to be entrepreneurs not because of accident but by design. Now, the era is creating a new start-up by design," continued the Rector of IPB.

Furthermore, Arif Satria explained, in the future the government had the opportunity to be led by people from the company. For this reason, IPB must produce leader-leaders with a strong economic base. It's a market and a source of national interests. If IPB does not fill this momentum, it will be missed.

"In the 80s and 90s the educational setting was not for that. Now we are pushing it right. I want to send students to big companies later. It's no longer just talking about farming, but also the environment, water and health," said Arif Satria .

Furthermore, the Rector of IPB conveyed the change of knowledge in the world of Veterinary Medicine. Currently veterinary medicine and human medicine are integrated, then the basic knowledge of veterinary medicine will be strong. IPB plans to create a School of Biomedical Veterinary that produces biomedical experts.
The Rector of IPB said that the discovery of the students of IPB was very large. Many student creative ideas are realized in the form of products, intelligent applications and so on.

Arif Satria emphasized that Indonesia's most prospective innovation work in 10 years from 1045 issued by the Ministry of Research and Technology, nearly 40 percent was supported by IPB.

In 2019, explained Arif Satria, IPB will be the first university to export its innovation products. "We are targeting IPB's innovation products to be exported to Russia and countries in Eastern Europe. Currently we are strengthening its standards," said Arif Satria.

Meanwhile the Head of the IPB Communication Bureau, Ir. Yatri Indah Kusumastuti, M.Si expressed her gratitude to Republika who has published IPB a lot.
