This is the Message of the Chancellor of IPB in the 2018 NEMO Seminar
The world is experiencing a revolution. This change, known as "Industrial Revolution 4.0". It feels real but not realized by everyone. One prominent feature is computerization of various aspects of human life. The unexpected thing continues to be a reality in this revolution era. Therefore, the youth must survive in the middle of it all with a straight soul and creative mind. That message was delivered by the Chancellor of Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB), Dr. Arif Satria at the 2018 National Economic and Management Olympiad (NEMO) Seminar delivered by the Vice Chancellor for Cooperation and Information Systems at IPB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat M.ScF.Trop.
"Youth must pay attention to ten factors of success. The most important factor is measured honesty. You cannot say lies, but you also cannot say everything, "explained Dodik
The event was organized by the Faculty of Economics and Management Student Executive Board (BEM FEM) at the Auditorium Andi Hakim Nasution (AHN), Dramaga IPB Campus (28/9). This seminar was the opening for a series of competitions from NEMO 2018, which took the theme "Creative Young Generation Leading The Industrial Revolution 4.0". The competition was Economic Paper Competition (EPIC), Marketing Debate Competition (COMIC), Business Plan Competition (AGRINATION), Scientific Paper Competition (GREENBASE), Sharia Economic Competition (SESO).
"This time, NEMO is present as a form of creative economic collaboration from all Indonesian youth. This is a form of our dedication to the creativity of young Indonesians, "said Adib Zuhdi, Chief Executive of NEMO 2018.
At this seminar, participants who attended were not only from IPB students. Several students from other universities such as Gadjahmada University (UGM) also came to enliven this event. Also attending the seminar was Dr. Mukhamad Najib, Deputy Dean of FEM Facilities, Cooperation and Development of IPB, Sony Sulaksono, Head of the Center for Industrial and Intellectual Technology, Indonesian Ministry of Industry, Indra Refipal Sembiring, FEM Alumni IPB and Leonardo Adypurnama Alias ??Teguh Sambodo, SP, MS, Ph.D, Industry Director , Tourism and Creative Economy, Ministry of National Development Planning / National Development Planning Agency (Ministry of National Development Planning / Bappenas).
The hallmark of the industrial revolution 4.0 is connectivity. According to Sony Sulaksono, there are three layers of technology in this industrial revolution, namely the physical, brain, and connectivity layers. "This layer (connectivity) connects the other two layers," he said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Najib stated that the Indonesian economy, in the face of this revolution, must remain based on the basis of the state, Pancasila. This needs to be remembered because this world is becoming increasingly distant from the value of the Pancasila mutual cooperation. "We have to find ways to accumulate the knowledge we have," said Dr. Najib.
Indra Refipal Sembiring, IPB alumni who now serves as Senior Manager at PT. HM Sampoerna said, the Z generation, as the generation of young people today, must have quality qualities to be a digital leader in this revolution era. According to him, this trait is simple, honest, always careful, visionary, and good for communication with others. "Everyone can be a digital leader," he told the seminar participants.
The Indonesian government must also be prepared to face this new era. "We ascertain whether this creative economy, from upstream to downstream, can be done well," Leonardo said. He stressed, one of the efforts carried out by the government, is to seek quality employment and human resources. (RP / Zul))
